Some people believe that printed books are no longer necessary in this digital era as all writings can be stored electronically. Others think that printed books still play an important role. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

The debate over whether printed books are redundant in the digital age has drawn widespread attention. While electronic storage of written works offers notable advantages, I believe printed books retain irreplaceable value.

On the one hand, advocates of digital texts argue that e-books and online documents eliminate the need for physical copies. Electronic storage can hold massive numbers of works on a single device, saving large amounts of physical space and making publications far more portable: a person can carry thousands of books on a lightweight e-reader when travelling, rather than packing heavy printed volumes. Additionally, digital writings are easier to search, share and update, which greatly improves efficiency for students and researchers who need to locate specific information quickly.

On the other hand, printed books still serve vital functions that digital versions cannot match. First, reading physical books causes less eye strain compared with staring at digital screens for long periods, which better protects readers eyesight. Second, many readers form a deeper emotional connection with printed books: the texture of paper, the smell of ink and the ability to mark pages create a more immersive, memorable reading experience. For example, many children who read printed picture books show better concentration and comprehension than those who read the same stories on tablets, as physical books reduce distractions from pop-up notifications.

In my view, printed books remain necessary. Although digital texts are convenient for casual, fast reading, printed books are more suitable for deep reading, collection and educational use for young children. Rather than being replaced, printed books and digital writings will coexist to meet different reading needs.

(On the one hand/On the other hand/In my view/Additionally/First/Second)保证逻辑连贯,词汇和句式避免重复。
